Gyro acquires Paris agency

Integrated agency Gyro International has acquired Paris-based agency Skipper Communications SAS.

The move follows Gyro's announcement that it had raised £6m capital from an investment syndicate to fund international and core strategic growth.

Skipper was founded by Patrick Blonde and Noel Grande, a former professional skier, nearly 20 years ago and has worked with clients such as Sony PlayStation, Vodafone's French network SFR, Renault and Moet Hennessy.

Patrick Blonde and Noel Grand will be joining the Gyro International management team.

Gary Brine, chief executive of Gyro International, said: "Our goal is to become the biggest independent agency network within the next few years and this acquisition, as well as further opportunities that we are examining in Europe, the US and Asia, will help us to achieve that."

Skipper will be rebranded as Gyro within the next few months and joins the group's other worldwide offices in locations including New York, Stockholm, Dublin, London and Hamburg.
