Guha, the Coca-Cola GB president, has been confirmed as marketing and Olympics director for North West Europe & Nordics. He will report to James Quincey, who remains president of the Northwest Europe & Nordics business unit.

Guha will have overall responsibility for all marketing activity in Great Britain, Ireland, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Iceland.

He will also be responsible for the delivery of Coca-Cola’s sponsorship of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The restructure creates four business units operating in Iberia, Germany, North West Europe & Nordics (NWEN) and Central & Southern Europe.

This replaces the current system of 10 units: Great Britain and Ireland, France, Germany, Iberia, Nordics, Benelux, Alpine and Adriatic, Northern Central Europe, South and Eastern Europe, and Italy.

Britain will be part of the NWEN unit along with Ireland, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Iceland.

The soft drinks giant has also confirmed the departure of Cathryn Sleight, marketing director for Coca-Cola GB, as first revealed by Marketing.

The role will now cease to exist as a result of the business changes. Sleight had overseen the launches of Coke Zero, glaceau vitaminwater, Relentless and Schweppes Abbeywell.

Coca-Cola is still in the process of reviewing 150 jobs in 38 countries and is in consultation with staff over redundancies.

Dominique Reiniche, president of Coca-Cola Europe, said: "The changes we are making will simplify the way we operate in all areas of the business. This will drive efficiency by enabling us to be faster to market and to increase the scale of our activities across Europe."

As part of the changes Nick Robinson, who joined from Diageo in 2009 as brand director of Coca-Cola's sparkling drinks portfolio, will take the role as My Coke director in NWEN. He will be based in London and the role covers the company's core range of regular Coca-Cola, Diet Coke and Coke Zero.

Philippa Classey assumes the role of Glaceau business manager NWEN, having launched the brand in Great Britain in 2008.

Michel Gotlib has been appointed as integrated marketing communications director NWEN, having overseen marketing communications activity in France since 2007. He will be based in Paris and responsible for integrated campaigns, including sponsorship and digital platforms, across the region.
