Guerrilla marketing outfit Cunning drops the Stunts

LONDON - Cunning Stunts, the guerrilla marketing agency launched five years ago, is rebranding and taking its non-traditional tactics to the US.

The agency will now be known as Cunning to coincide with the launch of its New York office.

Cunning's New York office is opening after several months of the agency working on projects in the United States. It is run by managing director Mark Voysey.

Anna Carloss, managing director of Cunning, said: "We now do so much more than publicity stunts and guerrilla marketing. Cunning is all about the fusion of publicity, ambient, guerrilla, theatre, event and non-traditional media."

Cunning Stunts became well-known for activity such as the projection of a naked Gail Porter on to the House of Commons as part of its activity for FHM magazine.

It also worked on the launch of the new Mini and clients such as British Airways and Tango. However, its activity in attempting to open the debate on the illegal practice of fly-posting has attracted some criticism from outdoor companies.
