The Guardian appoints Tim Hunt to top marketing role

Tim Hunt, the former Freeview marketer, has resurfaced as The Guardian’s marketing director.

Hunt has been working on a consultancy basis at the newspaper since January last year, but was appointed on a permanent basis as its top marketer this week. He will report to chief commercial officer David Pemsel.

. Previous to that, Hunt held marketing roles at Freeview, Project Kangaroo and Sky Italia and was a partner at ad agency St Lukes. 

Pemsel described Hunt as having a "brilliant media background".

He said: "He’s got a wonderful balance of understanding audiences, new technologies and the new media space."
