LONDON - Greggs has blamed rising energy costs and prices of ingredients for a dip in its annual pre-tax profits to just under £50m

The high-street bakery chain saw its profits drop by 3.3% year-on-year. It said it anticipated slight growth this year.

Recent sales had been more positive with like-for-like sales in the 10 weeks to 7 March rising by 1%, despite sales in January being hit by the adverse weather conditions.
