Greenberg was a member of this year's jury and has been recognised with an award for best communications design at this year's Smithsonian Institution's Cooper-Hewitt Museum National Design Awards.
The agency R/GA was founded by Greenberg and his brother in 1977, bringing together print and television ad production, along with feature film production, under the one roof. The agency has created visual effects for 4,000 television ads, 400 feature films, and created more than 900 interactive applications.
Roger Hatchuel, chairman of the Cannes advertising festival, said: "His talent in encompassing all facets of advertising will be a huge benefit at a time when the big ideas often have a multimedia approach."
