First up is the launch of an environmentally friendly version of the Eros card, as the Standard looks to woo new readers and ramp up its environmental credentials.
The Eros Green card, which launches today (Tuesday), is the first brand extension to the cashless payment card launched last year, and is being run in conjunction with carbon offset group ClimateCare.
The Associated Newspaper owned-title said the Eros Green card will be the first in a number of planned brand extensions.
It added that the new card provides customers with the same discounts and benefits offered by the existing Eros card, but also provides users with the opportunity to offset their carbon footprints.
Users will be able to calculate their approximate carbon footprint and the cost of offsetting it by answering simple questions. Users can decide whether they want to spend £5, £7 or £10 a month on the card, depending on their greenhouse emissions.
The Eros Green card will initially be available via a website, at eroscard.co.uk/green, but is expected to be made available through newspaper merchandisers in the future.
The Eros card operates in a similar way to Transport for London's Oyster card, which offers commuters cheaper travel fares.
Like Oyster, Eros cardholders hold their cards against a yellow pad at Standard vendor units to make their purchase and can load up credit online.
