Green body leads £4m climate ads

The government is investing £4m in a multimedia campaign to tackle the climate change crisis.

The impact of climate change on the UK - such as the devastating floods in Cornwall last year - is expected to be a key campaign issue at the next election.

Developed by the Defra-funded Carbon Trust, the activity highlights the fact that cutting carbon emissions will have a greatly beneficial impact.

A TV campaign created by McCann-Erickson will run across digital and terrestrial channels, including ITV and Channel 4. It will be backed by direct, print, online and outdoor activity.

The TV ads feature Robert Oppenheimer - the man credited with inventing the atomic bomb in the 40s - to promote the message that people must take responsibility for their actions.
