Great British Beer Festival posts 7% year-on-year increase: pictures

Bucking the recent trend of falling figures, the Great British Festival, which took place at Earls Court from 4-8 August, saw visitor numbers increase to 64,000 from last year's 59,500.

Held at Earls Court for the fourth consecutive year, after moving from its former home at Olympia, the Camra-organised exhibition welcomed

The venue was transformed into one large pub that allowed visitors to not only sample the global selection of tipples on offer, but also play traditional pub games and eat authentic public house food.

Camra director of national festivals Marc Holmes said: "Ever-increasing consumer interest in real ale, combined with advertising in London publications, digital radio stations and supplements in national newspapers, helped raise the awareness of the festival to new levels this year."
