Grazia and Vogue go head-to-head in magazine awards

LONDON - Fashion weekly Grazia is to go head-to-head with long-established glossy monthlies Vogue and Harper's Bazaar in this year's PPA magazine awards.

Psychologies, Radio Times and Heat are also in the running for consumer magazine of the year, won last year by Good Housekeeping.

Despite having no nominations for magazine of the year, IPC dominates the consumer magazine publisher category, with  Fiona Dent, Jo Smalley and Sandy Gale, publishers of Wallpaper*, Nuts and Pick Me Up respectively, competing with publishers from NatMags, Emap and BBC Magazines.

Grazia's editor Jane Bruton is also up for editor in the year, where her rivals include Jane Johnson, editor-in-chief of stablemate Closer, who Emap recently moved to its latest women's weekly, First.

The PPA hosts the awards during its Magazines 2007 event on 9 May.
