Her move comes in the wake of the merger of Granada and Carlton's marketing departments into the ITV Sales arm to be headed by former Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) managing director Justin Sampson.
Read is also resigning from her roles as a director of BARB and ITV's representative on the Broadcast Advertising Clearance Centre.
She has spent much of the past year responding to the Competition Commission's inquiry into the merger of ITV's two sales houses.
Read's opposite number at Carlton, Fran Cassidy, has yet to be notified of a new role in the merged ITV. As marketing director of the defunct Carlton Media Sales, Cassidy's role is redundant and she is said to be in discussions with ITV about a marketing job outside the advertising sales operation.
Meanwhile, ITV has settled its row with the RAB over a start date for Sampson. He will now join ITV Sales as customer relationship marketing director on April 13.
It had been reported that ITV was threatening to pull its advertising from radio to get Sampson released from his RAB contract early.
ITV Sales has also filled another key role, with the appointment of Gary Knight as head of sponsorship and branded content. Knight was director of Granada Commercial Ventures, responsible for sponsorship and licensing.
He will now report to director of ITV Sales Gary Digby.
