LONDON - The Government is launching a TV ad tonight to highlight the perils of driving after drug taking.

The £2.3m campaign warns drivers that the police can spot the tell-tale signs of d'rug driving' when they stop drivers for other offences.

The campaign, which also spans print, poster, online and radio activity, was created by Leo Burnett.

The ad shows a man with dilated pupils, which indicate his drug abuse.

Transport Secretary Lord Adonis said, 'We are determined to get the message through to this reckless minority that their behaviour is putting lives in danger'.

According to the Department for Transport, around 10% of young male drivers admits to driving after taking illegal drugs.
