After David Cameron disclosed his penchant for Guinness and Sky Plus in an interview with the free men's lifestyle magazine last week, it was the prime minister's turn to share his taste in sport and TV.

The PM reveals his most embarrassing student anecdote and tells how he manages to de-stress after a tough day at the office.

The interview was a break from the hard-hitting political cross-examination Brown has been undergoing of late, with a more light-hearted line of questioning giving him the chance to portray his ordinary side.

ShortList writer Andrew Dickens said Brown, who has this week been dealing with allegations of bullying staff, was in a "fairly jolly mood" when he met him at Number 10.

The issue has 26 ad pages, with advertising from brands including Reiss, Sony Ericsson, VW, Lacoste and Lucozade.

ShortList editor Terri White said: "It's been a fascinating fortnight, with both party leaders choosing ShortList to lay out their credentials as ordinary 'blokes' with interests outside politics.

"They both seem to have enjoyed a break from battling Humphries and Paxman, and have grasped the opportunity to show us the men behind the suits."

ShortList's distribution was up 1.4% year on year to 513,148 copies in the period July to December 2009, according to the latest set of ABC figures.
