Goodman departs in Tribal DDB shakeup

LONDON - Tribal DDB has lost its managing director Jason Goodman, who is to leave the interactive agency at the end of February to start his own agency.

Goodman is to be replaced by his deputy, Jane Cunningham. His decision to leave the agency, swiftly follows Tribal DDB's move back into BMP DDB's offices because of a slowdown in client investment.

The move out of its Camden offices was announced in December. James Best, group chairman of BMP DDB, said at the time that the move would mean that Tribal would have to shrink, but would enjoy a greater degree of interaction.

Cunningham graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 1992 and immediately afterwards joined Grey London as a graduate trainee. She moved to BMP DDB as an account planner in 1994 to work on the PG Tips, Sony, Lurpak and Kraft Jacob Suchard accounts.

She was promoted to the BMP DDB board in 1998 and joined Tribal DDB in October 2000 to set up the agency's consumer planning offer. She was appointed deputy managing director in October 2001.

Goodman is also currently chief operating officer for Tribal DDB Europe, as well as managing director for Tribal DDB London. He helped set up and launch the agency in 1996 when it was known as BMP interAction.

According to Best: "Jason has been pivotal in developing what is now a well-established interactive marketing brand in the UK and across Europe, and successfully helped BMP DDB to diversify into new areas of interactive marketing. He will be missed and we wish him well."
