Golley Slater wins Meat Promotion media account

LONDON - Golley Slater's media arm has won a pitch to manage the media spend for Meat Promotion Wales following a seven-way pitch that ended in a shoot-out against Ogilvy & Mather.

The privately-owned marketing group, which has media houses in Cardiff and Birmingham, already handles the creative account for Meat Promotion Wales, which is responsible for the national development, promotion and marketing of Welsh lamb and beef.

Meat Promotion Wales will spend £750,000 on media this autumn on TV, plus consumer and trade press.

Other agencies involved in the pitch process were McCann Erickson, Matters Media, Total Media, The Media Shop and Thomas Media.

Mike Leeson, Golley Slater group advertising managing director, said:
"Our combined creative and media work for Meat Promotion Wales has been focused on positioning Welsh lamb and beef as premium brands and with this win we look forward to continuing what is an extremely productive working relationship."
