Golden Wonder hands board role to ex-Boots man

Golden Wonder has promoted marketing to boardroom status by hiring former Boots marketer Rob Morgan to spearhead its consumer marketing strategy.

Morgan, who left his role as director of Boots brands and product development in the summer, is the latest in a series of senior appointments by the snacks manufacturer's new chief executive, former Unilever marketer Ed Jackson.

Morgan will take a seat on the Golden Wonder board, alongside sales director Pete Fazal. Commercial director Dave Revell is leaving the company after six years.

Morgan replaces Kirsty Taylor, who left in September for an undisclosed role, as marketing director. He will oversee consumer marketing for the Golden Wonder portfolio, including Nik-Naks, Wheat Crunchies and the eponymous crisps brand.

Insiders suggest that the Golden Wonder brand will relaunch in England in the near future in an attempt to erode Walkers Snacks' market leadership.
