The new Reading Post will be on sale every Wednesday from next week (3 June).

Surrey and Berkshire Media, the division of GMG Regional Media which publishes the paper, said the "subtle makeover" will keep the "brand identity of a hard-hitting tabloid" but with a more upmarket look and more white space to make the paper easier to navigate.

The Reading Post will include news, features, opinion, an expanded business section, sport with in-depth coverage of Reading Football Club, along with a weekly entertainment guide, property and a monthly food supplement.

Getreading is named after the Reading Post's website Getreading.co.uk and will be delivered free to more than 70,000 homes every Friday from next week (5 June), in addition to being on sale on Fridays and over the weekend.

The Friday paper will have an extensive guide to what's on in Reading over the weekend and a full preview of the weekend's sport, as well as current news.

Getreading.co.uk, which had 109,831 unique users per month according to ABCe figures for the last half of 2008, and that S&B Media said had 122,335 users last month, will continue to offer readers regular updates 24 hours a day and include daily video news bulletins at lunchtime.
