The Marvel Experience has been described as ‘the world’s first hyper-reality tour’, a project from Hero Ventures in partnership with Marvel Entertainment, event production company S2BN and Live Nation Entertainment.

The experience will cover more than two acres of land and will encompass seven domes, a life-size Avengers Quinjet aircraft, the world’s only 360-degree, 3D stereoscopic full-dome attraction and a state-of-the-art 4D motion ride.

As agents in training of S.H.I.E.L.D. – an espionage and law-enforcement agency in the Marvel comics – guests will swing with Spider-Man, smash with Hulk and fly with Iron Man in preparation for an epic battle alongside Marvel’s biggest super heroes in a fight against villans Red Skull, M.O.D.O.K. and an army of evil Adaptoids.

The Marvel Experience incorporates next-generation interactive technology including augmented reality, multi-person gaming and RFID progress tracking.

The experience launched in December 2014 at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Phoenix, Arizona, and has also visited The Cotton Bowl at Fairpark in Dallas, Texas. It is set to take place in Del Mar Fairgrounds in San Diego, California, as well as the AT&T Park in San Francisco, California, during the next two months.

Organisers have said future markets for The Marvel Experience to visit will be announced on a rolling basis.

Rick Licht, chief executive of Hero Ventures, said: "While I’m sure kids will eat this up, we know that there is an extensive Marvel fan base over the age of 25 – and we’ve created this event with them in mind. The grown-ups are going to absolutely love The Marvel Experience."
