The Stay Loud Showdown series aims to create a platform for emerging bands and artists to win the opportunity to perform on the Skullcandy stage at this summer's Vans Warped Tour.
For the Los Angeles event, bands performed against an urban skate park setting, and guests were treated to a performance from Lewis Del Mar. The tour's next stop will be Austin, Texas on 16 May, before it finishes on 6 June at the Knitting Factory in New York.
The winning bands will then perform at the 40-date Vans Warped Tour, which commences on 16 June in Seattle.
Jason Hodell, chief executive officer at Skullcandy, said: "Our goal for the series is to provide a platform that creates awareness for talented emerging bands across the country. It's exciting to see how enthusiastic and supportive our community reacted to the first Stay Loud Showdown event."
