The $60m facility, which opened yesterday (14 November), offers guests the opportunity to hone their driving skills using courses which aim to demonstrate the power, responsiveness and safety of Porsche cars.
Visitors are taken on a 90-minute, instructor-led driving experience on the centre's driving development track. It features eight training modules, including two handling circuits, an ice hill, an off-road course, a dynamics area, a launch control and acceleration straight, as well as a low friction handling circuit, low friction circle, and hydraulic kick-plate.
In addition, guests can use the Porsche experience centre to reserve a meeting space, view classic Porsche race cars and even dine in the centre's eatery Restaurant 917, which has been named after an iconic Porsche race car. The facility also features 6,000sqft of event space.
The new experience centre also houses Porsche Motorsport North America, which is the only authorized sales, parts and service provider in the USA and Canada that works for all purpose-built Porsche race cars.
Oliver Blume, chairman of the executive board of Porsche AG, said: "Our decision to open a second Experience Center in North America underscores our commitment to the largest sports car market worldwide."
Klaus Zellmer, president and CEO of Porsche Cars North America, added: "Our new west coast destination provides a unique product and brand experience for our customers and fans in a region where the automobile is so passionately celebrated."
