
Thorogood will be responsible for digital product management and development, creative technology and apps, online marketing, and with leading the group's social media strategy.
He will lead a team of 50 and report to Stephen Miron, global group chief executive.
Most recently, Thorogood was director of operations and acting head of digital for TV producer Shine Group’s digital arm ShineVu, where he worked on the launch of the MasterChef app and the BBC multi-platform show 'Magicians'.
Thorogood's previous experience includes a spell as managing director of the now-defunct Sky website MyKindaPlace, and the position of head of online marketing at Woolworths.co.uk.

Pembrooke left Global Radio last year when Fru Hazlitt, ITV managing director of commercial and online, and former GCap Media chief executive, .
