Australian-born Murdoch joins from the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games team, where she was a consultant on games strategy and governance.

Previous to that, she was vice president of Games Services and Accommodation at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.

In total, she has more than 20 years’ experience of major international sporting events including Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games and World Championships.

She will oversee the management of all games time delivery functional areas, including ensuring the areas of Games Family Relations, Games Services, Sport, Venues and Athletes’ Village and Volunteering are all developed and ready to be delivered in July 2014.

"Jacqui’s role will be absolutely crucial in ensuring that we remain on track to deliver an outstanding Games in July 2014," said Glasgow 2014 chief executive David Grevemberg.

"Jacqui and her team will be working tirelessly over the next three years to ensure that everyone attending the Games, especially the athletes competing, have a great experience in Glasgow."
