Havas 07 is to focus mainly on communications consultancy for French companies that have a strong presence in English-speaking countries, as well as British and American companies with a presence in continental Europe.
It aims to help these firms align their strategies and communications plans in relation to the specific characteristics of each country in which they work.
Gillham, a Brit who has lived in France for more than 20 years, is a graduate in sport and modern languages. He began his career with global electronics company Thomson, and in 1991 was appointed vice-president of communications of Thomson Consumer Electronics.
In 1994, he joined the CarnaudMetalbox Group. Between 1996 and 1999, he was involved in sports marketing and running the commercial interests of a professional rugby club in London, before joining automotive components company Valeo Group as vice-president of communications. He joined Havas in the same role in April 2001.
Havas said that chief communications officer Alain Cayzac will shortly outline details of new organisations within the company's communications department.
