The company has received an undisclosed cash boost from media specialist investor IBIS Media VCT.
The funds will be used to boost the company's head count by two or three times current levels.
The new staff will promote the company, gather more media owners to put their ideas online, and bring in media ideas from other media owners. The extra staff will also push the service to subscribers at regional and national levels.
IBIS Media VCT provides venture capital to small unquoted and AIM-listed companies in the UK media sector. It typically seeks to invest between £500,000 and £1m in each opportunity.
Pete Davis, a former media controller at Nestle, set up Getmemedia.com in March last year as a place where media agency staff and brand managers could get ideas for campaigns. It now gathers ideas from over 100 media owners, such as Viacom, Haymarket, Chrysalis Radio, Emap and Matchday Media.
The site is used by agencies including ZenithOptimedia, Brilliant Media, Mediaedge:cia, Starcom and MindShare. Brands include Orange, Nestle and Toyota.
Getmemedia.com allows users to enter their target audience, a budget and any preferred platforms. It then uses the information to generate a media plan, complete with contact details and, in some cases, cost.
