More than two and a half million overseas visitors attended German trade fairs in 2008, an increase of 50,000 on 2007.

The results of an Association of the German Trade Fair Industry survey showed that there were close to 200,000 visitors from southern, eastern and central regions of Asia, 90,000 from North America, and a similar amount from the Middle East.
