General Mills drops DDB Chicago in global realignment

General Mills has split with DDB Chicago, which previously handled its creative account for a number of brands, citing what it describes as a global realignment.

The company has not yet reassigned work on the brands, which include Yoplait, Betty Crocker, Bisquick and cereals such as Wheaties, Oatmeal Crisp and Golden Grahams. However, Saatchi & Saatchi, New York and Campbell Mithun in Minneapolis remain on the General Mills roster.

The winner of its $450m (£313.61m) broadcast media buying account is expected to be announced shortly. Included in that review is DDB's sister agency OMD, Omnicom's media buying network. It is competing against Publicis's Zenith Media and Interpublic Group's Universal McCann.
