- Stephen Gatfield, the former chief executive officer of Leo Burnett London, is one of four new executives to be named to the international network's main board of directors.
Gatfield, who is currently regional managing director of the Asia-Pacific region, joins Christian Kimball, executive vice president/general counsel; Phil Raskin, vice chairman, US management group; and Giacomo Zandomenego, group president Latin American region, in being appointed to the board.
Rick Fizdale, Leo Burnett's chairman and chief executive officer, said: "Each individual was selected to the board for his unique strength. As we pursue our aggressive campaign of change, these four have the talent, vision and strategic thinking we need to move this company forward."
Since arriving at Leo Burnett's regional headquarters in Hong Kong in early 1997, Gatfield, a 16-year veteran of the agency, has been responsible for leading the Asia Pacific region through the ongoing economic crisis.
He oversaw the acquisition of Cartwright Williams, Australia's leading independent direct marketing agency, and the launch of Leo Burnett's media independent, Starcom, in Thailand.
