Gaming site MidasPlayer signs pan-Euro deal with Lycos

LONDON - Games site Midasplayer.com has signed a two-year deal with Lycos Europe to offer its games to the portal's estimated 20m users.

The deal, which goes live this month, will see providing localised versions of its site for Lycos UK, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Sweden. The versions will include local language and the most common payment methods for that country.

Midasplayer games allow users to compete against each other to win cash prizes and include pool, solitaire, mah-jong, pyramid, Midas Miner and Candy Rail.

Toby Rowland, former founder of natural products e-commerce site Clickmango and chief operating officer of MidasPlayer, said: "We have developed our technology to be able to deal with multiple languages and multiple payment methods, which makes it attractive to leading international sites such as Lycos."

The move follows April's announcement that Udate.com founder, Mel Morris, was joining MidasPlayer as chairman.
