The news came in his ‘Olympics 2012: an international event’ presentation at the National Outdoor Events Association’s conference, at the Chateau Impney Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire.
The three-day event, from 28 February to 2 March, attracted 140 delegates. The theme was ‘celebrating cultural diversity in outdoor events – Europe and youth’.
Visit Britain head of business Joss Croft said the Olympics will provide opportunities to promote Britain as a destination for business and event tourism.
Rai Shacklock, head of the UK Centre of Events Management, talked about the benefits of hiring students and the importance of work-based learning.
