
The European provider of event security and crowd management services revealed that it would continue to provide a range of solutions to all of Headingley’s domestic and international cricket and rugby matches and non-sporting events. This included guarding, stewarding, safety and crowd management.
G4S first won the contract at the Headingley 20,500-capacity stadium .
Eric Alexander, managing director of G4S Events, said: "We are delighted to have been awarded this contract which extends our close working relationship with Headingley for at least another three years. Securing one of the most famous international sporting venues in the UK further strengthens our extensive portfolio of event security contracts in the sport and leisure industry."
The venue is home to Yorkshire County Cricket Club, Leeds Rhinos rugby league team, Leeds Carnegie rugby union team.
David Ryder, operations director at Yorkshire County Cricket Club, explained: "G4S’s excellent service to date and its proven expertise of securing some of the UK’s leading sporting venues was key to our decision to award them this extended contract."
