The UK publisher of Official Xbox Magazine, Classic Rock magazine and Total Film announced today (16 August) that its video content will be searchable through Blinkx.com, which will place relevant ads alongside content and share its resulting revenue with Future.
Mark Wood, CEO of Future Publishing, said: "Video content is a key strategic driver for our business moving forward.
"We are excited to partner with Blinkx, as its unique technology and advanced search capabilities provide the perfect medium to allow fans everywhere to easily discover and watch relevant video content online."
Future announced in May that its digital activities were in profit for the first time, driven by a digital ad revenue increase of 44% in the UK.
However, print revenues for the six months to 31 March fell by an estimated 10% to 12% year on year.
Future is now in the middle of a restructuring programme, as part of which, 10% of its UK workforce could be cut.
The titles facing potential closure or restructure are: DVD & Blu-Ray Review; Hi-Fi Choice; What Satellite & Digital TV; Home Cinema Choice; London Tech Guides & Bookazines; Photoshop Focus Guides; Nitro, and Redline.
Video search portal Blinkx has an index of more than 35 million hours of audio, video, viral and TV content, and is based in London and San Francisco.
