Future Publishing has produced a 132-page title, linked to the

release of the latest Microsoft Windows package.

The Official Windows Millennium Magazine will be published on 7

September, just seven days ahead of the release of Windows Millennium

Edition.

The magazine includes a ten-page guide to upgrading Windows and a CD-Rom

that has official video footage of the new system. The title has a cover

price of pounds 4.99.

The magazine also contains a detailed guide to the software, called The

Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition Companion.

Advertising was sold by a six-strong sales force comprising staff from

the computer and internet teams.

Mike Roberts, group advertising manager, masterminded the sales

effort.

He paid particular tribute to Rachel Franpton, who managed the ad

team.

’Rachel was the real driving force on the sales floor - she chased up

and resold the ads,’ said Roberts.

The Official Windows Millennium Magazine will contain 20 pages of

advertising.

Future has already pre-sold thousands of issues to computer retail

outlets such as PC World.

Roberts said his team pulled in most of the advertising in just two

weeks.

’The fact we were able to pull it together so quickly goes to show our

penetration of the market,’ he said.
