ImagineFX will launch later this month to fill what is perceived by the publisher to be a gap in the creative arts market.
The title will provide advice and inspiration for digital art enthusiasts and amateurs – material that is currently only available on the web.
Although a niche title, Future says ImagineFX's remit is a broad one, designed to appeal to hobbyists and professionals alike.
The magazine's editorial will be led by a panel of artists, including big names such as George Hull, the creative brain behind the artwork for the blockbuster film, The Matrix.
ImagineFX is edited by Rob Carney, who is no stranger to Future's creative portfolio having previously worked as deputy editor of Computer Arts.
The new title hits newsstands on 26 January with a cover price of £5.99. Future says it will use covermounted DVDs and A2-size posters to provide added value.
