Future overhauls Xbox World title

Future Publishing has relaunched its Xbox World magazine with a “360” added to the title in order to seize on the launch of the Microsoft Xbox 360 in December.

Future overhauls Xbox World title

The new-look monthly magazine will hit the newsstands on 29 September and is shifting its focus to covering the widely-anticipated new Xbox 360.

Xbox World 360 will include a free DVD with every issue, featuring trailers of new games available on both the original Xbox and the new Xbox 360.

The original title, Xbox World, was unveiled in April 2003 to coincide with the first major launch by software giant Microsoft into the games console market.

However the last round of sales figures for the magazine saw significant slump of 22% to around 18.500 copies per issue.

Publisher Matt Pierce said: "We know that as many of our readers as possible will be getting their hands on the new console right away, so Xbox World 360 will focus on delivering all the essential buying advice they need, as well as in-depth features designed to show them how to get the most from their new machine.

"The discs will showcase the incredible new Xbox 360 games on the horizon too, meaning readers can see them in all their glory before deciding which to buy."

The Xbox 360 will be unveiled to eager gamin fans on 2 December.

The Official Xbox 360 magazine, also produced by Future, was launched during the summer and will publish its second issue at the end of November.
