Wear who has been at the specialist publishing house for 18 years will spend some time with his family before pursuing other career opportunities. He is expected to be replaced.
The news of his departure comes four months after from his post to pick up the role of UK managing director at 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

Wear said: "After much soul searching I have decided to leave this amazing company. Having spent pretty much my whole adult life at Future I just feel the need to take a break and do something new.
"I have loved every minute of my time at Future. I am truly proud to have played a part in such a wonderful company."
