Future has appointed Stephen Pierce as editor-in-chief and Richard Keith as editor. Pierce and Keith replace outgoing editor Sam Richards, who has moved internally to launch a new project within Future Games.
Pierce has worked at Future since last year, when he returned to the publisher after a four-year absence while he worked for Computec as editor of PSW from 1998. Before that, he was deputy editor of Future's Official UK PlayStation Magazine.
Keith also moves internally within Future from Official UK PlayStation Magazine, where he has held the role of editor since 2000. Keith joined Future in 1999 as production editor on Arcade magazine and moved to the Official UK PlayStation Magazine in the same role before being promoted to deputy editor in 2000.
Mia Roberts, group publisher of the Official PlayStation2 Magazine, said Keith will oversee the day-to-day running and the management of the title, while Pierce's "strong connections with the industry will help the magazine forge new relations and ensure a continued and improved offering of unique and high quality content".
"Working together as a team, both Richard and Stephen will further support senior editor Mike Goldsmith to guarantee that the Official PlayStation2 Magazine is in the best shape possible as more and more PS2 consoles are sold," she said.
Elsewhere at Future, Daniel Griffiths has been appointed editor of the unofficial PlayStation magazine. Griffiths has worked at Future since 1995 across a number of gaming titles. Most recently he has been working as associate editor on the Official PlayStation2 Magazine.
Griffiths takes over from Marcus Hawkins, who has left the title to work on another new launch project within the division.
Official PlayStation2 Magazine is the market leader with a circulation of 197,348, a 56.8% rise year-on-year in the most recent ABCs.
