Future appoints new marketing head and launches archive library

Future Publishing has appointed former IPC marketing executive Sam Wight to the new role of group marketing manager for its entertainment titles, and has launched an image archive library containing tens of thousands of images.

Future's entertainment portfolio includes brands such as Total Film and official magazines for Xbox and PlayStation.

Wight will take up her new role on 12 December and will report to group publisher Clair Porteous.

Fundamental to Wight' srole will be driving forward a marketing strategy for Future's flagship film brand, Total Film.

Separately, Future has launched an online image library of photographs available to license from titles across Future's technology, craft and music portfolio. Consumers will be charged for the service, which will offer tens of thousands of images.

Called Future MediaStore, it is a fully searchable database containing images from Future’s magazine brands, including Classic Rock, Metal Hammer, Cycling Plus and The Knitter.

Users cans search the site in English, German or Spanish.

It's a fantastic resource that allows us to unlock the potential of our world-class photography archive to provide users with high-quality and original content."
