Future appoints Douglas to head London magazines

LONDON - Future Publishing has promoted Jim Douglas to the post of group publisher for its London-based magazine portfolio.

Douglas, who joined Future in 1992, takes charge of titles including Classic Rock, Metal Hammer, Total Film, T3, Home Entertainment and Hi-Fi Choice. He was previously publisher of titles including Total Film and Metal Hammer.

Robert Price, Future's entertainment division publishing director, said: "Jim's appointment is a crucial step in fulfilling this division's aggressive growth plans for 2003. His extensive editorial and publishing experience will be invaluable as we further develop our existing portfolio and launch exciting new products."

Separately, Future Games, the games magazine portfolio of Future Publishing, has appointed Mia Roberts to the new role of group publisher. The new role was created to recognise increased activity in the games industry. She was previously publisher of Future's Official PlayStation magazines.
