FT seals Vodafone deal

The Financial Times is to offer both free and paid-for content to mobile phone users with Vodafone.

The standard deal will give WAP users access to FT.com's leading business stories, plus industry and world news.

An extra premium rate - for £5 a month, charged directly to the user's tariff - will include the standard package alongside the Lex column, market quotes and news and a business information engine.

Zach Leonard, Europe, Middle East and Asia managing director, said: "FT.com's already extensive reach is expanded once again by this deal. Our award winning coverage can now be accessed directly by Vodafone Live! customers through their handsets, allowing customers to benefit from FT.com's agenda-setting news, comment and analysis."
