FT Business enlists group chief to head rejigged sales team

David Cowan has joined FT Business as advertising group head from

the Daily Express, where he was client sales controller. At the same

time, Mark Hunt has been promoted to the new role of director of

strategic sales.



With responsibility for eight sales staff, Cowan will oversee the sales

activity on FT Business's flagship title, Investors Chronicle, as well

as FT Expat. He will report to FT Business advertisement director

Jane-Emma Peerless.



Cowan has spent 15 years in the media industry, during which time he has

worked for The Mirror Group and The Express group.



At the Express group, he was financial group head and ad manager of the

International Express before becoming client sales controller.



Hunt, who has worked at FT Business for more than ten years, will be

charged with investigating new revenue opportunities and building closer

relationships with key advertisers.
