Friends Reunited dating role goes to Emap woman

Friends Reunited, Britain's second-biggest member organisation after the AA, has hired Emap marketer Rhoda Moore to head its recently-launched dating service.

Moore, who specialised in online lifestyle marketing as a marketing manager at Emap Consumer Media, takes the new role of general manager, www.friendsreuniteddating.co.uk, this week. She reports to Friends Reunited chief executive Michael Murphy.

Moore spent seven years at Emap, previously holding the role of commercial marketing and promotions manager at Emap Digital.

Friends Reunited launched its dating site to its 9.2 million registered users earlier this month. "Rhoda's priority is to make Friends Reunited Dating one of the major providers of online dating and personal services in the UK over the next two years," said Murphy.

He added that the company decided to extend its brand into dating after many members expressed misgivings about joining other dating sites. Friends Reunited intends to "help like-minded people find genuine relationships at a fraction of the costs of other dating sites".

Advertising will be handled by Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw and PR by Beatwax.
