Freeserve is using its newly installed sales force to attract ads
for its partner UK-invest, marking the end of the latter’s relationship
with 24/7.
Caroline Hughes, the ISP’s sales director, has been constructing a team
of around 40 staff since taking sales in-house in June.
She promised that the selling of banners, sponsorship and other
promotional opportunities for UK-invest, which is partnered by the
Freeserve’s Money site, marked the first stage of ’a major expansion
strategy’ for the Freeserve ad team.
Aside from handling UK-invest, the department will sell on behalf of
Babyworld, the community site Smartgroups and Clearly Business. It
either 100 per cent owns or has a stake in each of these internet
companies.
The idea is to offer partners advertising across Freeserve’s own network
- which includes Money and the women’s channel ICircle - allowing them
to receive integrated planning, placing and reporting.
Hughes said: ’UK-invest is a hugely popular site which provides a
quality AB male audience for advertisers.’
Paul Steinberg, business development manager of UK-invest, added: ’Ad
sales managed through Freeserve will result in more targeted campaigns.’
