The lead creative account was previously handled by Now and Freesat has a new head of marketing after tihe departure of Paul Gilshan in January.

Gilshan, whose CV includes roles consumer marketing roles at Sky, The Times and ITV before Freesat, joined employee benefit car company Tusker.

Jennifer Elworthy, former head of marketing and communications at Freesat, was promoted in January to director of marketing and communications – replacing Gilshan.

Mr President’s first task will be to develop a cross-channel awareness campaign launching this autumn across TV, print and digital.

Elworthy said: "Freesat is thrilled to appoint Mr. President as our new creative agency. We were impressed during the pitch process by their well thought through strategy and original creative ideas."

"We believe they are the best agency to attract the eye of consumers, who are fed up with paying for expensive telly, and help them to realise just how good switching to Freesat can be."
