M-Zone is the first title to be published by MAT, with content including the arts, travel, motoring, health and sex.
It will be launched as a monthly, moving to fortnightly later in the year, to be distributed every other Wednesday.
MAT has hired Carlson Marketing Group to undertake a launch marketing campaign. It will target commuters at eight key London stations, including Liverpool Street, Victoria and Waterloo, in the rush hours from 4pm to 8pm. Activity begins on April 24.
Nick Sunderland, managing director of MAT, said: "London needs a new male lifestyle magazine and we aim to fill a gap using up-to-date and lively editorial aimed at pleasure and leisure."
M-Zone was originally trialled at the end of 2001 under the name Man About Town. There is a strong tradition of low-quality free women's titles being distributed in the morning, mainly relying on recruitment advertising.
London commuters have responded enthusiastically to the launch of the free morning tabloid Metro, which has captured a large slice of the advertising and newspaper market since it appeared in March 1999.
