Four in running for HMV media account

HMV Group has shortlisted incumbent agencies OMD and PHD alongside Starcom and MediaCom in the pitch for its £24m media planning and buying account.

The HMV Group's media is currently split between OMD, which works on the £19m HMV business, and PHD, which manages the £5m Waterstone's. However, the group wants to consolidate the business into a single planning and buying agency.
An appointment is expected to be made by Easter.
News of the media review follows HMV's financial results, which showed a first-half loss, after exceptional items, of £31.8m.
