Former FCB managing director Rigby resurfaces at Love

LONDON - Jonathan Rigby, the former managing director of FCB London who quit the advertising agency earlier on this year, is about to resurface at Manchester-based integrated agency Love.

Rigby will join the consultancy as a partner on August 1 and will help build the business through new and existing clients. He will work closely with Love's co-founder and managing director Alistair Sim and the agency's three other partners -- Dave Palmer, Dave Simpson and Phil Skegg.

Love offers clients a range of marketing services, from TV advertising to brand identity. It was established in 2001 and was the lead creative agency on Manchester's Commonwealth Games, helping to change the image of the city across the globe. Since then the consultancy has won a variety of new business, including Nike, PlayStation, Alton Towers and Cancer Research UK.

Rigby quit FCB in May this year and was temporarily replaced by chairman and chief executive John Banks. He joined the agency in 2003 from sister Interpublic Group consultancy Lowe.

While at FCB, Rigby developed a communications concept called Sandpit, a collective of agencies that operated under the FCB umbrella. On leaving, Rigby reached an agreement with FCB to take the intellectual copyright with him.
