Foolish People will be transforming some of the UK's oldest and best-loved independent cinemas into the dark and disturbing world of Strange Factories - an immersive, theatrical and cinematic journey that places the audience at the heart of a haunted feature film.
The film tells the story of a writer, Victor, who awakens alone having fled a mysterious fire that consumed a theatre with his band of performers, and becomes obsessed by his unfinished story. He journeys into dreamlike places, all the while haunted by visions from the infamous hum of the Strange Factory.
Upon finding his troupe under the wing of an aristocratic noble, he learns of the enigmatic Stronheim, who offers to rebuild Victor’s theatre, so long as he finds the ending to his story.
Those interested in attended are being invited to join a secret society called The Imaginari, to witness Stronheim's film unravel, watch its characters come to life and even interact with the film and become part of the story.
The tour kicked off this month, with the first performance having taken place on 13 September. One highlight will include an immersive screening and performance inside King's Theatre in Portsmouth, a venue where scenes throughout the film were shot.
