The festival is one of the UK's biggest race meetings. Its highlight is the totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup on 14 March, which has a total prize fund of 拢450,000.
- Over the four-day festival, 拢3m in prize money is awarded, with an on-site betting turnover of about 拢25m. Across the UK, more than 拢500m is wagered on the 25 races.
- About 230,000 visitors attend, of whom 66% are ABC1s and more than 60% are men.
- This year's sponsors include Seasons Holidays, Smurfit Kappa and Ladbrokes.
