The British Academy Television Awards launched in 1954, with six awards presented.
This year, 24 will be given to producers and artists in the fields of drama, factual, news, current affairs, sport, entertainment and comedy.
L Nominees include Jeremy Clarkson, Jack Dee, The X-Factor, The Catherine Tate Show, Jamie's School Dinners and The Apprentice.
L Last year's awards, shown on BBC One, attracted almost 5m viewers. Winners included Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, Shameless and Coronation Street.
