Flickr launches video-sharing offer

Yahoo-owned photo-sharing community Flickr has launched a video-sharing facility.

The new video uploading feature will support up to 90 seconds of video footage, captured with any digital video recording device such as camcorders.

Flickr has expanded from 27 million to 42 million monthly visitors worldwide in the past year.

Its move into video is the latest in a series of recent strategic initiatives by Yahoo to demonstrate its long-term growth potential to investors.

Last week, it launched its new Advertising Management Platform, which brings together Yahoo's portals under one roof.
